iiiiChinese Tea Imports, Ltd., is a small cross-cultural family owned business that began in Denver, Colorado in 1998. The company was inspired by Dr. Harvey's"love"of Cha, and facilitated by Hong Ji's ability to"get things done"in China (along with the help of her large well connected family in China). Brenton permanently relocated his residence and practice to Shanghai, China in 2004. Hong ji relocated the U.S.A. office to Metamora, Ill.
iiiiTea, referred to as"Cha", originated in China over 4000 years ago. World wide,"Camellia Sinensis"is now available in over 350 varieties, with over 300 of them being grown within China alone. Together, they have personally traveled Chinese tea growing Provinces since 2002 in order to gain insight into: various tea variety cultivation, harvesting, processing, preparation, and use as a health maintenance beverage from a Traditional Chinese Medical perspective.
iiiiAll teas are selectively purchased from growers/estates that have proven to be reliable in both availability and consistency, vacuum-sealed, and air/ground shipped to your door.
iiiiThese products are mostly grown in rural/mountainous areas without the standardized use of fertilizers and pesticides commonly used in Western commercial agricultural operations. (The country is in the developing stages of commercializing growing operations, and working with organic standards).
iiii"Spring Flush"(first tea picking of the year) Long Jing batches are available on a limited basis as are the more superb grades of Oolongs from Anxi and Wuyi Mountain. Exotic varieties of tea such as"King of Gold Needle"from Yunnan Province,"Huang Shan Tai Ping Hou Kui "from Anhui Province are available upon request.
